Scale Ireland hosted a special webinar to help explain the impact of the Digital Services Act on start-ups. We were delighted to be joined by Robert Troy, Minister of State, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment & Claire Morrissey, Head of Maples and Calder's Data, Commercial & Technology Team.

The European Commission published the Digital Services Act in December 2020. The DSA will regulate the obligations of digital services that act as intermediaries in their role of connecting consumers with goods, services, and content. It will modernise the liability regime for intermediate service providers (“ISP”), increase transparency obligations and regulatory oversight over online platforms, and provide for substantial fines.
